Woodley House provides different levels of support ranging from crisis care to long-term housing within a variety of safe, secure and well-maintained residential facilities throughout Washington, DC. The location and quality of housing for persons with mental disabilities is unsurpassed and includes homes and apartments in such neighborhoods as Woodley Park, Adams Morgan and Cleveland Park. Residential programs include:


Crossing Place
Located in the community of Woodley Park, near convenient public transportation and community services, this eight-bed facility offers emergency shelter and crisis stabilization for persons experiencing acute phases of severe mental illness. Crossing Place provides intensive support services at approximately 1/3rd the cost of hospitalization. The home-like environment is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with professional counselors who work with the Department of Mental Health staff, medical and psychiatric physicians and case managers to provide intensive support to residents.

Valenti House
This well-appointed, three story townhouse is also located in the Woodley Park community of Washington, DC. and was the original half-way house. Valenti House offers a stable, family-like atmosphere in a residential housing facility while participants continue psychiatric treatment over an extended period. This residential home includes counseling support, education and skills training as people continue their reintegration into the community. Valenti House provides support staff 24 hour, 7 days a week  who provide services to as many as 20 residents.

Holly House
Located in a quiet, residential neighborhood near Silver Spring, this program provides a structured linkage to permanent housing opportunities for consumers who are awaiting approval of entitlement benefits. During this transitional phase, consumers receive independent living skills training and supportive counseling services.

Supported Independent Living Program
Woodley House owns and leases apartment and condominium residences throughout Washington, DC. People in recovery live independently as they reintegrate into the community. Our Supported Independent Living Program provides weekly skills training and counseling support to assist consumers so they can fully integrate into the community. Our Life Skills Day Program focuses on mastering basic skills that will ease their transition toward self-sufficiency and successful independent living.
